Antique Italian Handcrafted Primitive 19th Century Canoe Cabinet Pair
The most interesting and unusual handcrafted antique bar or cabinet pair we’ve found in Italy. As the story goes - Italian ingenuity meets South Pacific teakwood canoe. The canoe is primitive - hollowed out from a solid teak tree trunk. Then later the canoe was cut in two with hinged doors and decorative latches, framed with back wall, shelf, trim and base - to create a tapered, aesthetic novelty - and quite the conversation piece. Reminiscent of the Ahwahnee Lodge in Yosemite, the Algonquin Hotel in NYC, or an Alpine spa in the Dolomite.
