Wonderful, authentic, early 18th century Sicilian nuptial dowery trunk, hand-painted in soft aqua blue, green, red, rose, pink, orange and yellow with flower vases, draping leaf garlands, ribbon, red lilies, white roses.  On the rounded lid top the remains of yellow vases with a triumph of flowers. Hand-forged iron hardware.  Framed base and corners with the ochre accent. Inside hand-painted as well with very interesting symbolic signs; the moon as a femininity symbol and the heart for the love.  Perfectly placed at the foot of a bed or behind a couch.  Slightly rounded top.
